Auditions
The Cheyenne Chamber Singers is the region’s preeminent professional caliber Choral Ensemble, performing four or more concerts annually and serving as the core of the Cheyenne Symphony Chorus. We perform a wide variety of repertoire from all styles of choral music, ranging from Gregorian Chant to 8-12 part Contemporary.
The 32-voice ensemble requires a season commitment, with rehearsals Sunday evenings from 5:30-8:00 and occasional sectionals throughout the season. The season begins in late August or early September and ends in May or early June.
Our 35th Anniversary Season in 2025-2026 includes a November 16 recording session with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and the University of Wyoming Collegiate Chorale, a fall and winter songs of the season concert on November 23, a Christmas concert with the Cheyenne Symphony on December 13, the world debut of a new Jeff Lippencot work with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and the UW Collegiate Chorale, the Andrew Lloyd Requiem on March 21, and a 35th anniversary concert featuring CCS favorites from the last 35 years on May 9.
Auditions are scheduled when an opening is caused due to retirement or changes to the current ensemble. Vocal and Choral experience beyond High School level is expected. Auditions consist of an optional prepared number, vocalises, range and timbre exploration, pitch matching and recall, and part independence. To schedule an audition, please contact Sean Ambrose.
